31st December. The last day of the year.
The one thing I like to do on this day is to look back. To reminisce with joy on the good things that took place, to learn with earnest from the bad ones, to remember, think, smile, celebrate and just allow everything to float back to my mind once more.
2012 has been an eventful year for me - the top ones being migrating back from Sweden, getting pregnant with my second child and going on our final holiday in Europe.
Thinking back, there are countless things I am thankful for this year and here is a list of some of them.
2) For being able to try out new things as a family, such as riding snowmobiles across frozen rivers at subzero temperatures
3) For the times that bring out the child in me and how we get to play, bond and rejoice as a family of three
4) For the opportunity to be with my girl 24/7, doing nothing else but enjoying life and breathing in its beauty
5) For the gorgeous sunsets we have seen and the warmth it brought to our hearts
6) For the gift of a second child and the feeling of magic taking place in my body once more
7) For seeing my girl getting ready to become a big sister and showing affection in a way I never knew she knew
8) For having a wonderful hubby who never fails to be there for me, who accepts me for who I truly am and who is the only one who can knock some sense in me when I need it most
9) For being home sweet home back in Singapore, for knowing that I have a happy family no matter where I go, for being reunited with friends and family
11) For the day I finally got to hold Baby Ariel in my arms, for seeing that she's the perfect, healthy, lovely baby whom I have been waiting for
12) For being a mum who is blessed with all the goodness of life and knowing that there is still so much more happiness waiting for me
While motherhood may not all about rainbows and butterflies, it is definitely the most awesome journey I have ever embarked on. So I am definitely looking forward to more fulfilling, exciting and joyful years ahead with my darling princesses.
Thank you for reading A Happy Mum in the past year and I hope my stories have touched you in one way or another.
How did the year 2012 go for you?
